You'll need a measuring tape to take your dog's measurements. Measure your dog's back length, chest, waist, and neck according to the instructions below.
Please ensure your dog is standing upright with a straight back and head held up while being measured. If your dog is sitting, lying down, or lowering its head to the ground, the measurements may be inaccurate. Taking a little extra time to measure your dog carefully will help ensure the most accurate results.

4. WAIST – Measure the waist circumference at the narrowest part of your dog's abdomen.

The intended use of the coat also plays a role. A coat designed for active outdoor activities should fit snugly, while a slightly roomier fit is perfectly suitable for leisurely walks and resting.
Below you'll find our recommendations for choosing between sizes for each coat style if your dog falls between two sizes.
JumppaPomppa, PolarPomppa, and SporttiPomppa are designed with a close-fitting cut. If your dog's measurements fall between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.
Choose the smaller size if your dog is male, carries its tail high, or has a narrow body shape.
If you're buying a shell coat that will be worn over a mid-layer, we recommend choosing the larger size.
ToppaPomppa has a roomier fit than our other products. If your dog's measurements fall between two sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller size.
We recommend choosing your BathPomppa size according to how you plan to use it.
If you'll mainly use the bathrobe for drying your dog after bathing, when your dog will mostly be lying down, choose the larger size. This allows the hood to cover the ears and provides maximum drying coverage.
The smaller size offers a closer fit, allowing your dog to run and move more freely without the hem getting in the way.

Slim and narrow-built dogs: Choose a more fitted coat style and the smallest size that fits comfortably. If your dog falls between two sizes, you can usually choose the smaller size.
Broad-chested and muscular dogs: Choose a roomier coat style. Make sure there is enough space around the neck and chest so the coat doesn't restrict your dog's movement.

Will my dog wear the same size in every coat?
Sizing may vary slightly between different products. Every Pomppa product has its own size chart, so please compare your dog's measurements with the product-specific size chart before placing your order.
If your dog falls between two sizes, it may wear different sizes in different styles, for example, a different size in JumppaPomppa than in PerusPomppa.
How do I choose the right size for a growing puppy?
If you're buying a coat for your puppy to wear now, choose the size that matches your puppy's current measurements. If your puppy belongs to a fast-growing breed, you may allow a little extra room for growth. However, avoid choosing a coat that is too large, as it may be uncomfortable and restrict your puppy's movement.

Should I allow extra room under the coat for a harness?
Pomppa coats are designed to fit comfortably over most types of dog harnesses, so you generally don't need to allow extra room when choosing a size.
If your dog's harness has a high handle, it may lift the coat and affect the fit. If your dog wears a particularly bulky harness, we recommend choosing a coat designed to be worn underneath the harness, such as the SporttiPomppa.
