Sustainable product design
At Pomppa, our product design is grounded in the principles of the circular economy, with a strong focus on longevity, functionality, and sustainability.
We’ve set long-term goals to align all product development with environmental and social responsibility. Here's a breakdown of our sustainability roadmap:
2025-2026
- Gain a full understanding of the entire product lifecycle and assess environmental impact at every stage.
- Design all new products based on circular economy principles.
- Prepare for the introduction of the Digital Product Passport, which will improve transparency and promote product traceability.
- Define new partner selection criteria that support our 2030 responsibility goals.
- Calculate the individual carbon footprint of every product and display this information in our online store.
- Develop lighter, lower-emission packaging solutions.
2027-2028
- Ensure products are free from environmentally harmful chemicals.
- Use only recycled or renewable materials in all products.
- Reduce the overall environmental impact of both product development and company operations.
- Improve transparency regarding the origin and composition of raw materials, as well as chemicals used in production.
- Increase openness around our value chain, product safety, and manufacturing processes.
2029-2030
- Cooperative factories have raised their level of sustainability and manufacture products using renewable energy, recycle waste and treat wastewater in an environmentally friendly manner.
High-quality materials and thoughtful, timeless design make Pomppa products reliable companions for years. When used and maintained well, a Pomppa can bring warmth and joy to several four-legged friends throughout its lifespan.
To support this, we help our customers extend product life through services like RePomppa.
Our RePomppa second-hand service makes it easy for customers to return their unused or outgrown Pomppa products in exchange for a gift card. We inspect, recondition, and resell these items through our online store, ensuring they find a new home.
How RePomppa works
- The customer sends us their used Pomppa free of charge.
- We inspect the product, then issue a gift card based on the item’s condition.
- The item is listed for sale in the RePomppa section of our online store, ready to continue its journey with a new dog.
During 2024, we sold a total of 131 used Pomppas through the RePomppa service.

"Pomppa was purchased new in 12/23 and used several times in cold winter weather to keep our young cocker spaniel warm. It worked great, but now it's too small for 10-month-old Waltti."

"Onni was a small rescue dog we adopted from Romania in August 2021. He wore these jackets around downtown Tampere in the spring and winter of 2022. Sadly, Onni passed away in the summer of 2022. These jackets were only lightly used, and I hope they’ll bring comfort to another dog."

"Pomppas belonged to my angel dog, Rocky. They were a bit too large for my other dog. Rocky, a big Havana mix, wore them mostly in the north, but they’ve seen some southern frosts too."

"Rosi, our lovely mixed-breed girl, just turned 15 and is still going strong. She wore her SadePomppa for about 4–5 years. Now she needs something warmer, so I’m passing it on. It’s still in great condition and would be perfect for another furry friend."

"Bella puppy was born weighing 104 grams. At first, JumppaPomppa was under KevytPomppa, otherwise she would get hiccups outside in the cold. Now she is small and feisty, and has grown to size 34. Toppa and PerusPomppa are still size 31. The picture shows Femton JumppaPomppa in size 34."
